Cabin
In 1997, Amy and I convinced some bank to buy us our first house. Back then, we had a couple of wooded acres on the lee side of a hill. Our cabin was somewhere in the neighborhood of 170 years old (a new house by European standards). We did lots of rennovating, redoing the third floor bedroom, adding a wood stove and stone hearth in the kitchen as well as cabinets and a pantry, painting all but one of the rooms, and redoing the bathroom (which was added as an afterthought to the house... just like electricity). Then, of course, we had to move!
BTW, it is good to use power tools and bang some stuff after tapping plastic keys all day in front of a monitor. We're doing the same thing at our farmhouse in Berryville, VA.
