Publishers can add these restrictions to their licenses:

- Prohibition against publishing detailed product criticisms
- Publisher has choice of lawsuit forum (the publisher can choose that you have to sue them anywhere)
- Restrictions against competition
- Restrictions on the nature or purposes of use of product
- Prohibition (via the ban on reverse engineering) against developing products that are interoperable with this one
