Duke is the little pointy-headed character with the round red nose that we use with some of our Java products and services. Because Sun owns trademark rights in this Logo, anyone else's of it violates our Java Trademark Guidelines and constitutes trademark infringement. Our policy at this time is not to license the Duke Logo for non-Sun use. You can find our Java Trademark Guidelines posted on the web at http://java.sun.com/trademarks.html. However, we have recently introduced a new logo with Duke in it that third parties can use as a link from their web sites to ours.
