Conference and Workshops

ECBS’02 will be the 9th IEEE sponsored meeting dedicated to formulating and advancing processes, models and tools for the engineering of computer-based systems. This increasingly important discipline is devoted systems engineering issues related to fielding systems whose behavior is largely determined or controlled by computers. Computer-based systems are characterized by functional, performance and reliability requirements that mandate the tight integration of information processing and physical processes.
  • ECBS is the integration of several engineering disciplines including software, hardware, and communications into a complete engineering discipline.
  • The conference focuses on systems-level integration of information from these varying disciplines.
  • The program will provide a balanced view of academic research and industrial developments emphasizing application and evaluation of research results.
  • Contributions are sought in two major categories: (i) fundamental ECBS technologies; and (ii) reports of ECBS application case studies.

Scope

• System Architectures
• Hardware/Software Codesign

The Conference

The Conference provides a forum for presentation of mature
research and case-study results including keynote talks and panel discussions. Conference papers are fully refereed and will appear in the conference proceedings.

The Workshops

The Workshops provide a forum for focused meetings dealing
with various areas of ECBS research.

Paper Submission

Full papers for the main conference (4000-6000 words) and
workshop proposals (1 page) must be received by October 29, 2001 at ecbs02@telecom.lth.se. Papers can be submitted in pdf, MS Word or EPS format. Specific instruction are available at the conference website. Papers will be reviewed and authors notified by December 17, 2001.

The Venue

Lund, a city founded in the middle ages, is located in southern Sweden, 30 minutes by train from Copenhagen Airport over the recently opened Öresund bridge between Sweden and Denmark. Lund University, funded 1666 has 34 000 students in seven faculties. The city of Lund as well as the neighbor cities Malmö and Copenhagen are well worth a visit.
