Job Description
This person will support sales and marketing efforts. The right candidate will primarily work the phone and send e-mails to generate and qualify leads. This person is critical to the success of marketing by dealing with the influx of leads from events, including shows and webinars, and qualifying those leads to pass them to sales representatives. They are also critical in generating new business through their cold calling activities. The Inside Sales Associate will be the lead executor for conducting telemarketing campaigns.
When leads from a list or show are gathered, the Associate will usually call, and sometimes e-mail, the lead to determine if they are a bonafide prospect for our business. The Associate will attempt to set up a conference call or meeting between the lead and a sales executive. He or she will also conduct cold calls to generate and qualify leads, and work to set up a conference call or meeting with a sales executive. The Associate will make some calls specifically to sell our training CBT which can be sold directly without the additional involvement of a Sales Executive. From time to time, market research will also be conducted by the Associate. This is a salaried position with a commission potential on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on leads from various sources by phone and by e-mail.
- Qualify leads based on a pre-determined list of questions and get a further meeting or con call for the sales executive for qualified leads.
- Conduct targeted sales calls (cold calling) in order to gain key customer information, promote services and achieve appointments for the field sales team.
- Lead select call campaigns to generate leads or gather information that will enable growth for the company.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the marketing team as well as with individual sales executives to whom the qualified leads will be passed.
- Assist at conferences when needed by attending and helping with coordination or manning the booth.
- Project initiatives – research web sites and conduct other marketing activities as required.
- Build and maintain a database of leads by conducting research on contact information and qualifying leads.
- Use company database of contacts as a source of leads.
- Increase knowledge and stay up-to-date with our company’s service offerings and the application security field.
- Produce daily summaries and weekly reports of inside marketing results.
Requirements
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to follow a scripted list of questions to ask prospects.
- Enthusiastic – enjoys talking with people and being on the phone.
- Organized – ability to work through a list and document results in a spreadsheet or database.
- Tenacious, determined, and driven to succeed in order to achieve targets.
Education and Experience
- Four-year degree or commensurate industry experience.
- Proven track record in B2B sales or marketing role (telesales included).
- Experience working in a high-tech environment, IT company preferred.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Computer proficiency.
- Experience using a database such as MS Access and Sales Force preferred.
- Experience working in a services sales environment preferred.
